Professor Katherine Boydell – Black Dog Institute

Professor Katherine Boydell from the Black Dog Institute at the University of New South Wales was awarded an Innovation Grant for her work on the Edge of the Present virtual reality project.

Professor Boydell says that receiving the grant will allow the team to determine the impact of the Edge of the Present (EOTP) virtual reality experience on positive future thinking for individuals with a history of suicidality.

“The grant will also allow us to examine how the associated benefits can be sustained, and to co-design – with individuals with lived experience – a strategy to extend EOTP for use by people in crisis, and raise public awareness of suicide prevention,” she said.
